MXR is a legendary American effects brand known for producing some of the most iconic stompboxes in history. Now owned by Jim Dunlop, MXR pedals are celebrated for their no-frills, musical designs that have been used on countless classic recordings.

History

MXR was founded in 1972 in Rochester, New York by Keith Barr and Terry Sherwood. Their Phase 90 and Dyna Comp quickly became staples of studios and stages. After being acquired by Dunlop Manufacturing in 1987, MXR has continued releasing both reissues of classics and innovative new designs.
